Business and Hospitality

The Business and Hospitality staff at HenMUN is dedicated to running the logistical side of the conference, including public relations, social events, social media presence, advertising and marketing, and the delegate and advisor experience. Many of these staff members are studying business and hospitality here at the University of Delaware, and they are enthusiastic and well-versed in how to organize highly successful conferences.

Advisor Lounge

Advisors are welcome to enjoy complementary snacks and refreshments throughout the weekend while committees are in session in the Advisor Lounge, which is located in the lobby of our beautiful Alfred Lerner Hall. Advisors will have full access to the internet and ample table space to do work or just relax. The Secretariat also holds frequent feedback sessions in the Advisor Lounge to take suggestions, answer questions, and encourage dialogue between Secretariat and the advisors.

The Advisor Lounge is located in the same building as some committees and is located no more than two minutes away from any other committee at the conference. Conference transportation and the shops and restaurants of Main Street are also within a two minute walk of the lounge. Advisors will never be far from their students or the events of the conference.

Scooping with the Secretariat Ice Cream Social

The Ice Cream Social sponsored by the World Scholars Program is a unique social event at HenMUN. We offer complimentary UDairy ice cream for all delegates and advisors on Friday night. UDairy ice cream is made fresh on campus by students and industry experts using milk from cows that are raised on the University of Delaware's farm. Delegates are encouraged to meet and talk with fellow delegates, HenMUN staff, and Secretariat in an informal setting, all while relaxing after a long first day of debate. Transportation will be provided to and from the Ice Cream Social.

 Delegate Dance

HenMUN would not be complete without the  favorite Delegate Dance. This event is held on  Saturday night in a university dance hall. We bring  in a popular student DJ who will play the latest  songs and great classic favorites. Refreshments  will be served, and transportation will be provided continuously to and from the hotels over the course of the event.

Security

HenMUN provides security throughout the conference, 24 hours per day. HenMUN staff are trained in the security procedures necessary to keep everyone safe during committee and at all social events. Staff members will accompany all transportation buses to ensure all delegates and advisors arrive at their destination safely. HenMUN staff and University of Delaware full-time police officers will be present at the Delegate Dance to keep all delegates safe. In addition, HenMUN staff will be present in the lobbies and hallways of all hotels throughout the night to help maintain a safe and respectful atmosphere.

Technology

HenMUN utilizes technology in all committees to liven debate, enrich the delegate experience, and promote environmentalism. Our technology staff helps ensure technology is used to create the best possible experience for delegates and advisors.
